About The Friends of the library |

The Friends of the Library is an organization of volunteers who support the Rancho Santa Margarita Library for the community. All members volunteer their time and financial support so that children and adults can enjoy this precious resource.
As the county funding for libraries continues to decline dramatically, the role of the Friends of the RSM Library becomes more and more important. The FOL organization has been successful in the past in providing support for many needed programs and materials including children's programs, books and materials and prizes for various contests and reading incentives. The library is currently in the process of purchasing much needed new chairs for the children's section with money provided by the Friends.
The Friends of the Library is a 501c(3) tax exempt organization so every donor is entitled to claim a tax deduction for each gift to the FOL.
The primary source of funds is the FOL Bookstore, which is maintained by volunteers. The volunteers work in 2 hour shifts every one or two weeks. It's a fun job, satisfying and interesting. The store is in need of more volunteers who can help.
